Custom regulations

The main customs regulations for switzerland:

TOBACCO
(only sold to people ages 17 and over)
Cigarettes: 200

Cigars: 50
Loose tobacco: 250 g (or proportionate combination)

ALCOHOLIC DRINKS
(only sold to people ages 17 and over)

Up to 15% vol: 2 litres
Up to 15% vol: 1 litre

OTHER GOODS
For private use or gifts up to CHF 300.00 in value. If the total value of goods exceeds CHF 300.00 (inc. meat and meat products), all goods will be subject to duty. It is not possible to combine the duty-free limits of several people.

The exception to this rule is alcoholic drinks and tobacco, which are only duty-free in the quantities detailed above. The duty-free limits are imposed on a daily basis and only apply to those goods (personal items excepted) that are declared to customs officials at the border crossing.

The main customs regulations for EU countries

TOBACCO
(only sold to people ages 17 and over)
Cigarettes: 200
Cigarillos: 100 (cigars up to max. 3 g) or
Cigars: 50 or
Loose tobacco: 250 g (or proportionate combinations)

For people whose main country of residence is Austria, the following limits apply:

Cigarettes: 25
Cigarillos: 10
Loose tobacco: 25 g

ALCOHOLIC DRINKS
(only sold to people ages 17 and over)

Up to 22% vol: 2 litres
Up to 22% vol: 1 litre

And still wine: 2 litres PERFUME 50 g and 0.25 litres Eau de Toilette OTHER GOODS Up to a total value of 175.00 Euros. Fuel found in the permanent manufacturer-installed fuel tank of any motor vehicle can be brought in duty free. An additional 10 litres in a reserve container can also be brought in duty-free if the container is brought in with the car or motorbike. The duty-free fuel that is brought in may only be used in the vehicle in which it was brought in.
